Queanbeyan Whites player HP Momsen.HE may have missed four crucial penalty goals in the John I Dent Cup grand final, but Queanbeyan Whites winger HP Momsen was still happy in contributing 97 points for his men during the season.
Last Friday night he won the Gus Vallance Memorial Trophy for the competition’s highest points scorer at the MacDougall Medal awards ceremony in Canberra, in just his second season at the Whites.
Momsen said he put himself under too much pressure in the grand final, and along with a niggling groin injury, could not kick at his best.
“I let my confidence down, but I’ll put my head up, and I look forward to next season,” he said.
“But my rugby’s definitely improved. I’m only 20 years old, and I enjoy Australia and Queanbeyan,” he said.
Momsen hopes to continue his good form next season, and make the Canberra Vikings National Rugby Championship side.
